ik gebruik 0W40 van Mobil 1, waarom? M'n vader gebruikt het ook voor z'n NSX, zal wel goed zijn :D

Ik moet me olie verversen maar ben er nog niet helemaal overuit wat ik ga gebruiken.

Best niet teveel veranderen van merk he',olie moet zich telkens opnieuw inwerken in de motor met al s gevolg snellere slijtage :wink:

Er zit nog de originele honda olie in, heb er nu 10K mee gereden dus tijd voor wat beter spul. Heb er zolang mee gereden omdat dat het advies van honda was, tot 12K, maar ga niet tot dan wachten.
Wil het om de 7K-8K verversen.

Ik gebruik Castrol Formula RS 0W-40.

Het maakt niet zoveel uit wat voor merk olie je gebruikt, als het maar een synthetische is. Dus Mobil1, Castrol, Shell, ze zijn allemaal goed.

Honda maakt zelf geen olie. Ze kopen gewoon olie ergens in en plakken een Honda stikker erop.

volgens mij wordt voor typeR motoren incl de civic K20a juist geen te dunne olie ala 0w40 geadviseerd, maar juist een olie met wat meer "boddy" om de klappen beter op te vangen.

Wat zegt het werkplaatshandboek?

0W-40 zou bijna even dik moeten zijn als 10W-40 bij 100 graden Celcius.
Maar bij -10 graden is de 0W dunner.

Werkplaatshandboek zegt precies hetzelfde als de gebruikershandleiding (pag. 127). Dus kies een viscositeit uit afh. van de omgevingstemp.

After reading these guides you'll know why the question "What is the best oil for my engine?" is besides the point :idea:

Every engine has had a different owner, service pattern, usage pattern, fuel choice, mechanic servicing it, factory worker putting it together, heat-up / cool down cycles, etc.

That's why naming one oil to use is not a good idea. Better is to arm yourself with the knowledge that will help you determine which oil will suit YOUR car's engine best. Of course you can ask for other opinions, but at the end of the day, that's all they are, just opinions. The effects your choice has on your engine, those are hard facts for your engine.

Ik mis 1 belangrijk eigenschap in dit tabel. Dat is HTHS = High temperature High Sheer. Dat zegt iets over de afbraak bij hoge temperaturen.
